can't remove programs from startup e17
« on: March 07, 2011, 02:17:26 PM »
pclos e17

items i had added to the startup menu, and then removed, are still starting up. (conky and konsole)

is there someother place besides the e17 startup list they have also been placed?

i searched 'autostart' and looked in every place that showed in the results.  no luck.

where or where is it hidden??

No answers from e17 guys so I'll tell where it is in LXDE:
Folder /home/<username>/.config/autostart.

Note .config is so called hidden file so you have to tell the file browser to Show hidden files.
Look there if you find it and delete entries for conky and konsole.

Hello,

That's a new bug in e17!

Workaround:
/Home/<username>
Show hidden files
/.e/e/applications/startup/.order
Open it and delete unwanted apps there.

Hi peterhodges, I'm just passing bye, want to drop a suggestion about your title : next time you should add "E17" (or e17) in your title, so that we know at once in what desktop environment you meet with a problem.

edit ~/.e/e/applications/startup/.order manually if the gui fails to work.

BTT

I have tried everything and still can't find the problem.

Looked in here, /.e/e/applications/startup/.order , and in multiple kde, e17 and gnome startup and autostart files.  Is there somewhere else in the PCLOS system that would be starting up a program?

Maybe /etc/xdg/autostart?

After login check your running processes maybe some other program is starting up processes. If you use the e17 + qt apps version also check kde's systemsettings for kde's autostart apps.

Anogther file you could check if present is .xinitrc

Hi,
In the actual pclinuxos versions .xinitrc has no action. Rather look for a .xsession file. (I keep both in openbox versions for "if one day..." but it might be of no use ever.  ::) )

At the startup it reads the file
~/.e/e/applications/startup/.order.

I cleaned it and solved.
Try.

Does E-17 have a Restore previous session or Restore manually saved session setting similar to KDE?
