I have moved away from Imageshack.  I don't like that new approach of theirs ...

I haven't been at my Imageshack site for several weeks.  what new stuff is going on there... will have to check it out.

Lately have been using Dropbox.  All of it is done on your system.  No going to the site to do stuff.

Can you use Dropbox in a way similar to that of Imageshack?

Yep.

Put the image into your Public folder, and link to it there (instructions are in the folder) ;)

Humm, having some problems with this. A right click on my file does not show the "Dropbox" option as described in the "How To". ??

Here is a pic as to how it works on my system... (from Dropbox)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9860238/dropbox%20in%20Linux.jpeg

This is assuming you've already installed Dropbox, and the Dropbox icon is in your system-tray.  Click on it with your left button, it opens a file-manager... the rest is as my pic from Dropbox.

You can get this same functionality from the web interface, if you log into your Dropbox account...

Thanks pags!

This is the way I will have to do it. I can't /(haven't tried hard enough) get the right click option to show. On two separate installs.  ???

Well, I have followed this thread & had erratic success with viewing imageshack pics.
I didn't take it too seriously cuz I use tinypic with no problem.
But now that you mention using dropbox for hosting images locally, I think I'll give it a try.
Thanks imageshack!! ;D
