Did you update your kernel?
I use the latest kernel, too, and my bluetooth works well...

this is my info:

[mahmood@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.33.7-pclos6.bfs #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 21 22:42:28 CDT 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Is there any version of kernel after this?

I was checking on the error, found the following thread which appears to have similar problem to mine:

http://blueman-project.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=205

Can someone explain to me what is happening :-\

New kernel in the repos:
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,88231.0.html

This is from the Software Announcements section, a good place to get news about what updates and new stuff is coming.

Unless you can fully support yourself for any problems, compiling your own is not advisable.

Just an update.

I installed KDE also and blueman is working fine with it  ??? the applet showed up in the panel from the start and it  is working.

Can anyone shed some light, why the same thing did not work in LXDE ???

for me, BT is working out of the box without any issue in both GNOME and KDE, but not LXDE. In any case, i will keep trying and will post a solution (if I find one!).

Do you mean in Blueman? If so, install:

libobexftp0
obexd
obexftp

Go to Blueman -> Local Services

File sharing (FTP) must be enabled! Advanced -> pcmanfm obex://[%d] -> Apply

When clicking (in the main Blueman window) Send file(s) to the device or Browse the device using obex ftp button, PCmanFM will open:
