LoManager - Libreoffice - Not working
« on: March 05, 2011, 08:01:46 AM »
Guys,

i used lomanager to install libreoffice.

1. It removes openoffice and proceeds to download libreoffice.
2. After the download is  over, the last dialog box says , libreoffice is available under pcmenu -> office but when i go there , i dont see anything such as writer, calc , impress etc.

Any .odt file i click on opens in okular now. all .doc files  cannot be opened at all.

help... !

you seem to not run the latest lomanager version 3.3.1-2, please update your system and run lomanager again. In case a previous version is found select to first completely remove it before installing LibreOffice anew.

Hi,

When i try to install Libreoffice with lomanager 3.3.1-2, I run into the same problem. I ran lomanager previously from the PC menu located under "Software Center. It failed, no error msgs were given, and it removed the previous Libre 3.3.0. I tried running it again with uninstall previous version. Again no error msgs. To see if there were any hidden error msgs, I ran lomanager as su in a console and got the following msgs:

#stdin: is not a tty
cat: /opt/libreoffice/program/versionrc: No such file or directory

Internet connection working

cat: /opt/libreoffice/program/versionrc: No such file or directory
cat: /opt/libreoffice/program/versionrc: No such file or directory

At this point I got a msg box that pops open with an "OK" button at the bottom and the following text:

The new LibreOffice locale is now available

Note: to select any added locale in LibreOffice go to:

Then restart LibreOffice to apply the new locale.

Have fun!

When I click the "OK" button the msg box goes away and nothing else changes in the console; it does not give back the cursor prompt unless I hit a key.

Libre was not installed and there are no Libre icons under "Office" in the PC menu.

Again, it did not install Libreoffice and the console did not give back the blinking cursor that shows its ready to receive more commands. The cursor was a solid rectangle as if the program it ran has not completed. If I the "Enter"key, then the blinking cursor comes back.

I checked Synaptic, it shows no entries for Libreoffice, except for the lomanager.

ljjr.

Hi,
PCLOS2010.12 kde4.6.1 most current maintenance as of 03/06/20110. lomanager 3.3.1-3 is installed.
Ran lomanager 3.3.1-3 and got the exact same symptoms. Reran it again at the su command prompt and received the following output:

# stdin: is not a tty

Internet connection working

LibreOffice did not get installed and there are no libreoffice icons in the PC menu under submenu Office nor any other submenu. The lomanager doesn't appear to try to install libreoffice, it comes back to quick. After I answer whether or not I want the libreoffice rpms left on the system after the install, the msg box with that query disappears and immediately the msg box with the following text pops up:
The new LibreOffice locale is now available
from the submenus under PCmenu -> Office...

Hi as,
I ran lomanager in a konsole after I change to superuser.
In the konsole I typed (at the user command prompt): su  then I entered my root password. The prompt changed from my regular user prompt to the superuser prompt of: #
Then I ran lomanager and got the above results.
