Hi iv done a scan at http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=7113 is pclinuxos 32 or 64 bit and should i follow the recommendations of this scan

at the scanner says the following

the maximum capacity your computer hardware can handle and the version of Windows your computer uses.

In the past whenever I needed to use Crucial it came back with very good and accurate reports on the systems it checked.

PCLinuxOS is currently 32bit (64bit will be released possibly sometime later this year)

It looks like your system has a max of 2GB (made up of 2 slots with each capable of taking a 1GB module)

As for using an 32bit or 64bit OS is irrelevant as far as your ram goes.

Adding another 1GB module will definitely give you a speed hike - its probably the best (or close to) update a system can have, especially when a system doesn't have a full complement to begin with
