It is already in the repos, and I have installed it.  Uninstalled gsynaptics

And yes gpointing-device-settings saves the settings.
Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
However, wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad.

Very good ! In this case what about suggesting to remove gsynaptics from the repos, in the Packages section ?
