Solved Question on 3G
« on: February 26, 2011, 02:26:38 PM »
I have a 3G 760 Novatel USB Modem i'm trying to install.  I can get it to work on using KPPP but firefox won't see the connection.  The Network Center see's the Modem but spits out a error asking for a sim card.  Any advice? Thanks.

OK Partially solved.  KPPP is working.  For some reason the firewall had everything blocked buy default.  Now if i can just get it to be setup as an actual 3G connection threw the Network Control Center would be Great!

Instead of trying to set it up as GPRS/Edge/3G - try it as Analog Telephone Modem (POTS)

I don't have the same as you but that is how I set mine up and it works great and connects at boot.

I will see if I can find the post that explained how I did it .

I am on my third 3g card / service. I have never been able to set it up to work in the Control Center, but always have been successful in KPPP. I would be content with KPPP, as PCC is weak for 3g cards.
