I'm using Gnome- Google talk plug-in webcam mic .I can hear the party on the phone, they can't hear me.I can make audio recordings so the mic works for that.I have Pulse audio, and have tried all Alsa capture settings.Any ideas appreciated.

Yes, but what browser are you using?

Have you experimented with a different browser?

When you view the hardware ......  audio card .... in Pulse Audio Volume Control is the correct configuration selected for using the MIC?

My friend uses Firefox with no problems.I could try opera.Since I'm able to make a sound recording I believe the webcam mic should work .

What about the Configuration Settings in Pulse Audio Volume Control?

Maybe the MIC is muted, disabled or otherwise unavailable from there.

That is a pic of the Gnome-media volume control, not the Pulse Audio Volume Control.

Do you have the pavu package installed?

Run the browser with gphone and make a test call .....  and as the call is in progress check the tabs of the PAVU ...  particularly the Recording Tab, but not necessarily only that one.

The Tabs show - on a button - the source of the audio stream.
Press the button/s to get a drop-down box.

Choose your camera and not your internal audio card.

That should do it.

regards.

I'm still getting the same thing- badly broken bits of my voice on the phone receiver. AT&T even terminates the call, the senors don't think a call is being made, that bad.I tried all the settings in the drop down menu;all streams applications, virtual streams.I tried them in all tabs,no difference.I'm using Wild Blue satellite isp if that would make any difference.Thx for your persistence with this, and me. :)

That pic shows Google Talk using the sound card MIC input (0807 Analogue Mono) and not the camera MIC.

As I said above .....  you must select the source to what you want it to be.
