I recently updated my machine and now I find the Catalyst Center is not reporting the Catalyst Version is this correct or has something broken?

The screen shots show the before and after

I re-installed a couple of times but nothing has changed ???

I've just checked my Catalyst and Im shown as running 10.5 after an update, however in my case I am running a slightly older kernel which may account for this.
Post the output of uname -a like below:

uname -a
Linux orac 2.6.33.7-pclos5 #1 SMP Tue Oct 5 06:41:18 CDT 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

The catalyst driver has to install its modules in the running kernels module tree /lib/modules.

However if you look at your screenshots, you will see the after screenshot has later driver
packaging so you are running a later version.

I was guessing that I was running the up to date version as I now have the Tear Free option, and (as you point out), the packaging number has incremented. I just found it a little odd that the Catalyst version is no longer reported

with regards to the kernel I'm running it's the current pae as shown below;

uname -a
Linux mars.sol 2.6.33.7-pclos6.pae #1 SMP Fri Oct 22 00:00:59 CDT 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I've found that, for some reason, the only way to get the Catalyst to report the correct version number, is boot into safe mode and run aticonfig --initial -f from there. It doesn't work for the current version though

I just ran in todays updates which included a version 11.2 of Catalyst and the issue has now been resolved.

Thanks all

I installed the Catalyst upgrade 11.2, I was still showing my old version 10.5 ??

I logged out kde4, and went into console mode ctrl-alt-F1 and ran
aticonfig --initial -f

and back to kde, still showing old version.
I rebooted to safeboot and ran the command which worked and now shows correct version.
Possibly logging into console mode still left an active X session, maybe would have worked
if I killed the process, but I'll remember your solution, thak you.  :)
