THanks for the info. I think I have another drive hanging around that I may be able to use. I will look into that. If I find another drive, is it easy to point swap to that drive?
If the drive is installed in a permanent manner, ie internally, yes it is. If the drive is external, it's just as easy, but the drive has to be plugged in before booting. If the drive is external, and large enough, having the OS installed entirely on the external drive makes it portable, for use between different machines. This is what I do with this vastly expanded MiniMe installation I'm using now. The only drawback is that the various computers need to be new enough to be able to boot from USB, or older ones need a
boot partition to store copies of the kernel and initrd.img files on the internal hard drive.
