Thanks. The mirror has changed.
Now, what I did is I removed some programs thinking in re-install them just to verify the download rate.
But... after that, can't find them listed in Synaptic! I did a Reload. Nothing!... :(
So, where are these programs and how can I re-install them? ???

What programs? :-\ Or are you keeping that a secret?

Nope... ;D
- K3b and VLC (that are already installed in the KDE full ISO)
- jDownloader and Jitsi that I installed from repo
I just want to have some megabytes to test the download rate. 'cause the dld rate of all I installed was 60-70 Kb/s!!! That means I waited hours to install Opera, jDownolader, Jitsi, fonts...
Now, all I removed from my system can't install again; don't find them...

Those are in the repos. Try again.
Your download rate depends on several factors - the speed of the mirror you connect to and the number of other connections being made at the same time among others.

Well, after following the Option 2, the ibiblio mirror disappeared and found I’m in this mirror:

http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/

But, in the bottom-left it stated:

1951 packages listed, 1921 installed, 0 broken, 0 to install/upgrade, 0 to remove

In fact, this is all what is installed in the main ISO (except 5-6 programs I installed previously to the upgrade). Removing these programs from my system, they were removed from Synaptic too. Couldn’t find them listed. Making a Reload didn’t help.
I tried the Romanian and Brazilian mirrors as I understand these are functional.
The same thing!

What’s the explanation of this issue?

Finally, what I did, it was to enable this mirror:

http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/

And... there are:
13 402 packages listed, 1921 installed, 0 broken, 0 to install/upgrade, 0 to remove

So, from there, I re-installed the programs I removed. The download rate turned to the good high values. arround 1000 kb/s.
But can’t perform an upgrade running this mirror.

Then press OK to close the window. Next, press Reload, then Search for  apt-sources-list and install only this upgraded package. After this package is installed on your system press Reload again, you will then be on a different mirror with fast download speed from which you can then follow the steps to update your system: Reload, Mark All Upgrades...

Here I'll make a remark because I experienced an issue:
"Then press OK to close the window. Next, press Reload, then Search for  apt-sources-list and install only this upgraded package. After this package is installed on your system, restart Synaptic, press Reload again, restart Synaptic, you will then be on a different mirror with fast download speed from which you can then follow the steps to update your system: Reload, Mark All Upgrades..."

I mared out it twice beause don't remember exactly when I had to do this; it is one of these two.
I had to do this because if not, it opened a couple of error windows about broken packages. I had the idea to restart Synaptic and all was ok.
...except the issue I posted before... :(

Anyone had the same experience I had?

Don't know what exactly you where doing, but:
http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/
is for the megagames.
http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/
is doing (very fast) the standard repo, see:
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,112036.msg957315.html#msg957315

Except for eigen3 on PASS no problems lately ;)

I'll repeat what I did:

After following the option 2 I opened Settings -> Repositories and by default it was marked
http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/
that is the first in the list of mirrors.
But in the bottom appears:
1951 packages listed, 1921 installed, 0 broken, 0 to install/upgrade, 0 to remove
Only 1951 packages!!!

The second mirror in the list is
http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/
But it was not marked.
I marked it. It containes the entire list of packages - 13 402.
The download rate is OK.
But can NOT perform any upgrade!
It opens a window with a message that tell me about an error due to some broken packages.

So, what's the solution?
If the problem can be fixed with a fresh re-installation, I'll do it...

I did it yesterday, but after that, clicking "Mark All Upgrades", showed me an error window about broken packages.

Think you meet the Eigen3 issue: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,112348.0.html
Gonna be solved soon on the public mirrors!
Search for eigen and unmark the broken package and apply then.

I'm back.
OK, it worked!...
Just after performing the upgrades it opened a window

"APT system reports:
W: Some errors occurred while running transaction

Extra output was generated during Package Manager operation
While installing... etc."

But, finaly, it is ok.

What a difference in two days!
Yesterday - not; today - yes!...

I was at point to teach my wife how to install an OS... ;D

Thanks O-P. :D

that error is caused by upgrading calibre, looks bad but is completely harmless, calibre works fine but I will look into fixing the calibre installation to not show this error anymore at some point.

Ok, pinoc
It's just it's painful not be able performing the upgrade for the fault of one package...
But, how I said, all is ok now and works fine.
