Has Heanet synced already or not?

original post, latest mirror list, second last entry:
# rpm http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2010 main updates nonfree kde games xfce4

=> yes.  ;D

I note the change in the Heanet path ......  (re?)introduction of a second 'pclinuxos' before the 'apt' ....

Different mirrors each have their own directory structure, depending on the extent of what they actually include. The double pclinuxos, as shown above, is correct.

Yes I know it is correct ......  I was noting the change from the previous path which had only one 'pclinuxos' before the '/apt'  ;)

Well I believe the Australien internode has updated, because now the link has changed from this morning (my time about 14 hours ago) and "the lot" is present

http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/live-cd/

internode has now dropped one /pclinuxos (and aarnet back to using double /pclinuxos)   ;D ;D

I think KDE 2012.12 I downloaded from aarnet yesterday, when I discovered the link change, must be fine.

The mirror maintainers can set this up as they wish on their server. If they followed my instructions then they would get pclinuxos/pclinuxos for our repo because then they also mirror the megagames repo on their server, but not all want to do that. Anyway, that is not important, the original post is constantly updated with the latest info and once the mirror move has terminated (whoever will not move within the next 5 days will be eliminated from the list) I will update apt-sources-list with the latest info, so each user can get an uptodate mirror list.

What IS important is that we now have a new reliable primary mirror AND the fastest possible distribution to all other mirrors.

I used to do a rsync once a month to have a complete backup repo for the computer club
Is it possible with nluug ?

Heanet facilitates it ......  but it can sometimes be slow getting started for some reason .....

Well... that change also caused me to get caught there ;) I was getting errors and wondered why without running a diff :(

Now that I have added the extra /pclinuxos, everything is running smooth as ever.
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

I'm using the Dutch Repos, which I added to the 'sources.list.' a few days back :
 http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/ megagames megagames
http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2010 main updates nonfree kde games xfce4

For anyone, like myself who isn't a Pass server user, and doesn't feel like altering their sources.list often, may be wise to wait for the apt-sources-list;)

updated original post with additonal mirrors for Australia (2), Indonesia, Denmark, Japan.

I will close the mirror moving this Saturday and then update the original post with a final mirror list which is then used also for an updated apt-sources-list package.

I'm late to this party, just dropped in to see why my update notifier has been reporting a failure to update for over a week now. I just want to clarify that when you say you are updating the "original post" you are talking about the almost 2 year old post dated "Feb 8 2011" ?

Thanks,
Dave

I think what Davepet may be getting at is that this thread is getting awfully long as time marches on.  It might be beneficial to either start a new thread for each instance of this activity, or to update the Subject line with an effective date and a "bookmark" of sorts pointing to the start of a new activity?

That way, folks with little idea of where to begin will at least have a chance without reading through all 10+ pages of posts to try to sift out the context.

Just a thought...

Well, it was pretty obvious that I did not need to read all 10 pages from the beginning, but yeah, I suppose it probably would be a bit more clear if a new thread was started when events like this occur. I mostly wanted to be sure I was looking at the right post for updated lists. Without reading all 10 pages, that was not obvious.
