These days with "apt-sources-list" in the repos; I do nothing but update. Pinoc edits the list, done.

Whenever I update apt-sources-list, I lose my local repo settings. Not a big deal, but thought I should report it. Thanks.

Galen
Galen, only situation that would need attention would be if your " local repo" had been removed from the sources.list, then obviously you'd have to choose another.

cheers,

Tony

Tony,
The sources.list file is new. The old is saved as an rpm.save file. Local repos are not included in the new sources.list. That is why we are discussing adding our local repo back into the list. This is done by copying it from the rpm.save file to the new sources.list.

OK, thanks Neal  ;)
I never have any problems when the sources.list is updated, with "apt-sources-list", or manually.

I simply have the exact same repos as are on the sources.list as displayed on page one of this thread.

As pinoc edits out servers;
removed leg (S-Africa), Calgary (Canada), Yamagata (Japan) mirrors due to inactivity (10/22/2012)

updated info in original post accordingly.
-p.
I change the sources.list using "apt-sources-list"

I use the "heanet" repo as it's fastest for me.

Just had a look to confirm.
I have /etc/apt/sources.list
             "       sources.list.rpmsave
             "       sources.list_original

Not to worry, all is working fine. ;)

I flounder around a bit, normally I use the aarnet mirror here in Australia, I noticed that it failed to connect the last day or two.  I was following progress and noticed KDE 2012.12 was not available yet.

When checking today the aarnet did not respond at all to my normal address. Just out of curiosity I manually tried accessing rather than using a link and on a hunch remembering some time ago and extra /pclinuxos was added.  I have just removed one of those and now this link works for me. :

rpm http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2010 main updates nonfree kde games xfce4

The previous one was:

rpm http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2010 main updates nonfree kde games xfce4

I am having a guess that somebody decided to 'fix it up a bit', whatever synaptic will now connect again, plus I notice that now KDE ISO 2012.12 is available.

This addressing also affect the link on the MAIN page.

Edit:
Just fixed up my bad spelling of the links, should be right now just in case.

I just checked the original post and noticed that the internode server is not there, this is another Australien server, presently it has

PCLinuxOS-LXDE-Mini-2012.12.iso
pclinuxos64-kde-test05.iso
pclinuxos64-lxde-rc1.iso

I am guessing that this means it is rebuilding, the list used to be longer.

yes, they are informed and I monitor the changes on all our mirrors and update the original post as news come in. Some of the already synced mirrors will do a resync against a new mirror, I hope all this will be settled soon

rsync mania...  ::)

some already synced mirrors will now perform a resync against a new much faster mirror, therefore their local mirror path may change.
Right now, the only safe new mirror is nluug as outlined in option 4 of the original post.

You should find more safe mirror locations in option 4 of the original post tomorrow and onwards.

Dear developers, note that on the mirror http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/live-cd/ specified an incorrect checksum for PCLinuxOS-LXDE-2012.12.iso, which has an earlier date.

thanks for noting but there is no mistake, the files were uploaded at different times but that checksum is correct, see here

I note the change in the Heanet path ......  (re?)introduction of a second 'pclinuxos' before the 'apt' ....

Different mirrors each have their own directory structure, depending on the extent of what they actually include. The double pclinuxos, as shown above, is correct.
