Not sure if this is the right thread but I will post here anyway.

I am one of the AARNet mirror guys and I have been having problems syncing our repo from distro.ibiblio.org for a while now.

My logs show

rsync: failed to connect to distro.ibiblio.org (*inet_ntop failed*): Connection refused (111) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.8]

Is there a better upstream I should be using?

thanks!

edit: Issue resolved via pm! Thanks.

The path was changed a while ago. Do you have this url? http://distro.ibiblio.org/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/

updated Finnish mirror info and added ibiblio info in the initial post.

will monitor distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr and remove it if stays offline in the next days.

Thankyou pinoc. Have Bookmarked the first page of this thread.
Referencing your initial post on here will be easiest way to keep 'up to date' with any changes to mirrors, and sources.list, and avoid confusion personally. ;)

Thanks for your keeping us informed, updates are coming in no probs at all.

Hi,

I've an eye on Synaptic package manager for a while and to be more specific from 1st September.

I've realized that there are no more kernel updates and so, just a few minor things like new version of Firefox / Thunderbird and some other small packages.

I'm asking you now if something has been changed lately.

Also running Synaptic package manager everything seems good but no updates are showing up.

Thanks,

-j

Probably coz a lot of work is going on in building the new 64bit release and packages for it (think the last I read was Tex had packaged 7,620) so updates aren't coming through as thick and fast as before.

Sometimes it can be a blessing not having loads of updates, unless a user is waiting on a specific one of course........

In saying that I updated a few things a few hours ago and noticed Chromium has been updated to version 14.0.835xx
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Have I missed something important here?

I have been keeping my system up to date, generally every week or so.  However when I come to update today (probably been 3 weeks since I last tried) it want to remove loads of programs.

I have followed the instructions in the first post, but still getting the same issue.

Thanks

Rob

I saw the following post which mentioned removing packages and caused some issues, therefore I would suggest for the time being not applying the "update"

Now I feel a bit stupid, never saw it.  I don't come to the forum to much now as everything just works.

Thanks again

Good excuse  :)

However, it is worth keeping an eye on the Software Announcements section of the forum.
