added new super-easy way to update your sources.list. Please see Option 3 in the OP
-p.

Thanks pinoc, but when I right clicked and saved to my home folder, it saved the file as   getnewsources.txt  so then the command wouldn't work in the terminal. I had to change the file name and delete the .txt on the end for it to work.  It works great by the way!  :o    Thanks!   8)

Hey timeth,
1.) if I do the "Save link as" I get a html file. (The link obviously ...  ??? )
2.) As comparative action, I  "left - clicked" on OP &  get a "save as", download it - "getnewsources".
Properties =  Type: shell script.
which is a Doc, of course, suppose your system recognises, (set to ) that a script is a .txt, .doc.

Funny all the permutations our Systems can configure to during some past task ... ;)

Dear PCLOS Dev Team,

I would like to suggest that you try and get a Mirror Repo set up at University of Calgary (Canada).

A number of other Linux Distros are parked there and in checking some of them out, I was amazed at the blazing speed of the U.Calgary servers.

http://www.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror

Hopefully I am suggesting this in the proper place and that the appropriate people see it.

Thanks for your consideration.

Why don't you contact them and ask them to mirror the distribution. The primary rsync host is ibiblio.org.

Here is our folder on ibiblio.org.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

Well, I didn't no what the process is and assumed one would have to be a an official rep of PCLinuxOS to make such a request, but if not, fine ... I will see what I can do.

just contacted http://www.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror and provided them the necessary path/rsync info for mirroring. Will add them to the OP if they accept our request and mirror successfully.

Removed Australian Internode mirror because they don't manage to sync the repo. Australian aarnet works reliably.

Was not a "yes", but not a "no" either.  Let's keep our fingers crossed. Their servers rock!

Due to earthquake-induced damages to the power-plants in the Kanto area the Japanese mirror kddlabs is temporarily removed from the list because it is shutdown for the next week or two until the power supply company will recover from this situation. The other Japanese mirror (ftp.jaist.ac.jp) is still up right now but may have to stop temporarily due to the current energy situation in Japan.

Japan, we pray for you.
