I'm glad I updated after logging in at Forum, around 4 days back (?) from the single server that Texstar posted.
For us not so commandline aligned users this is a little complex, hoping this is correct info for myself and Newbs, see if I can help out, and check what I've done is correct ?
Firstly, reading post:
Downloading Sources.list HERE to your home directory, then opening a Terminal from the home directory, and using this command:
user@localhost ~]$ su
Password:
[root@localhost francis]# cp sources.list /etc/apt
cp: overwrite ' /etc/apt/sources.list' ? yesAny errors please respond, I'm sure some of us are getting a little frazzled
Not that it's rocket science, but Synaptic is the Mother that feeds us, many people are coming to Forum wondering why Synaptic isn't working.
Plus comparing new servers to the sources.list in above link, may be a little
tricky for some.
SO, for new servers coming online, we can add them to "the list" by opening Synaptic, (Top Toolbar)> Settings > Repositories > NEW > Then manually entering as I had to, being in Australia:
# rpm http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2010 main updates nonfree kde4 games# rpm http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/pclinuxos/apt/ pclinuxos/2010 main updates nonfree kde4 gamesHoping that helps out someone, and is the correct procedure essentially (basically) ?
Thankyou.
