This time as su I ran all 3 commands and each one was accepted. In other words a new ... su line appeared each time without telling me that it was a wrong command.  I took that to mean that each command I entered was done so correctly.

I exited su and entered  plasma-desktop and got the same message that I reported before:

Invalid D-BUS interface name 'org.kde. plasma-desktop. PlasmApp' found parsing introspection

Now, and only now, I see there is a 'space character' between 'org.kde.' and 'plasma-desktop'.

if it's not a typo this is a wrong written parameter.

Can you confirm Femina Poetica ?

First of all here is what is in the /temp file.  copy/paste:

Invalid D-BUS interface name 'org.kde.plasma-desktop.PlasmaApp' found while parsing introspection

(I probably typed it incorrectly the extra space.)

... hmmm, just made a try on mine system, I have the same message because plasma-desktop is already running.

we can retry with another config file, plasma-desktoprc:

ALT + F2, type in konsole <ENTER>
su <ENTER>

really all the following 3 commands are supposed to be run as superuser:
you should substitute the string "[your first username]" with your login id.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
cd /home/[your first username]/.kde4/share/config
cp plasma-desktoprc plasma-desktoprc.bak
cp /etc/skel/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktoprc plasma-desktoprc
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
then close all, log out and log in.

I did the 3 commands.
After I pressed <Enter> on the last one, this bit of info came up at the end of the command:

cp: overwrite 'plasma-desktoprc'?

I just pressed <Enter> and it came back to the   config

I exited and logged out and in to the 1st user.  Same.

You have been very kind and patient!!

I answered Y and logged in and out.  This time my desktop wallpaper vanished and in place came that kde light bluish wallpaper.  But nothing else.

I need to leave for the time being.  Thanks for your help and will watch for the next directions.

When I booted up this morning......instead of that kde light bluish wallpaper that had appeared yesterday........there was my regular wallpaper.

Interesting, because wallpaper is defined in plasma-desktop-appletsrc.
The other things I missed yesterday, is that KDE  rewrite this file ... it does explain why wallpaper revert back to the original state.
Therefore the replacement of the file plasma-desktop-appletsrc need to be done when KDE is not running, at least not for that 'primary user id'

Femina Poetica, are you ready ? there is another list of commands:  ;)

1) login with your secondary user id
2) open konsole
3) type su, (enter root password)
4) cd /home/[your first username]/.kde4/share/config
5) cp /etc/skel/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc plasma-desktop-appletsrc (answer 'y' to overwrite)
6) close all, log out and relogin as primary user.

Just to make sure.  This is to be done in the second user konsole.  This is where I am now...so I just open konsole here and do the commands.

Yes, confirmed. The important thing is that KDE shouldn't be running from the user we are going to change, i.e. your primary user.

Guess What!  I am coming to you from the 1st User.  :-*

I have looked around a wee bit and I see some changes.  But I can now get back to the business of what I was doing. I am scared to put any wallpaper.  ;D

Thanks AS.
After I look around more, I will probably ask for help with things I can't find.  :P

DON'T GO WAY!!!!   ;)

Glad your problem is mostly solved, about other things you would not find, should be only a matter of adding plasma-widgets or similar customizations,
of course I have no idea to leave both PCLOS and this nice Forum, to much fun here!  :)
