Yes. Really. I do not think it unreasonable to ask that fonts be of a size that is readable for the majority of users.

I made no screenshot. However 12pt Times New Roman was too small. That is why I changed to 16pt; i.e. to make it a readable size.

I made a request. There was no response. I took action.

I wasn't trying to accuse you of being unreasonable.  On the contrary, I was wondering why there may be such a discrepancy between what you're seeing, and what I see...

You stated that the Times Roman 16pt was visually equivalent in size to the forum's default font.  I merely posted the screen shot to indicate that the 16pt appeared quite a bit larger, on my screen.  Maybe it's Chromium vs. your browser (if your using something other than Chromium)?  Maybe it a forum config I made and forgot, or you made?

I'd be curious to see what the original font looked like (information purposes, only...I wouldn't suggest it be changed back and become unreadable again for any other users).

Also, to try and bring this back around to the OP's post...maybe there is a setting or something in the plugin that could use a forum's default settings, and scale pt sizes up and down relative to the document's selections?  Just thinking out loud.

The Times font still looks quite a bit bigger than the default...are these screen shots similar to what you see, or are they way off?

I'm going to let this roll around in my head for a while (just to have something else to think about, through the day, because Lord knows I don't have enough as it is).

Why do I do this to myself?

Not to belabour a point, but in your Firefox setup, under Preferences > Content > Fonts & Colors > Size, what do you have set?

I checked another install of Firefox, and it is similar to what I posted.  Under this setting, it is set to 16.  If I change it to 18, I get something that more closely resembles your screenshot.

Just trying to wrap my head around this...no rush, or anything.

For me, even before it was changed, the font was larger than the forum's default font. Now it is quite a bit larger. My screen is practically identical to what pags posted, and therefore I express confusion. What is making the default forum font appear so large for you, Neal? I was going to post, but seeing as nobody else had posted, I had decided that the unusual size was bound to my system. But seeing as pags has also posted, I see it is not something specific to my configuration. Before the font size was changed, the font clarjon1 used was larger than the default forum font, and now it is much bigger.

Different browsers seem to render fonts differently.

On my box Neal's, sorry Coffeelis's, corrected Times New Roman still seems slightly smaller than the forum's default font in Konqueror and Chromium. In Firefox it's marginally larger, and in Opera a lot larger. In Internet Explorer both fonts give an impression of being the same size.

The font in the unedited original post was quite tiny in Opera.

Of course I don't use the default settings in any of my browsers; sometimes I've enlarged the default font sizes and sometimes the minimum font sizes (and sometimes I've had to specify the sizes in points, sometimes in millimeters, sometimes even in pixels and sometimes in something enigmatic and mysterious). But after all my tinkering the forum fonts usually seem to be the same size in all my browsers. This time the size of the Times New Roman font varies widely depending on which browser I use.

To be honest, I have no clue why the fonts are being displayed so differently.
