How do i move "taskbar" elements?
« on: February 14, 2011, 12:27:10 PM »
Dear Group, it's funny how the smallest problems can niggle isn't it?  On the bottom of my screen is the "taskbar" for want of a better word.

It has my Firefox icon, the control panel icon (you get the picture i'm sure)  At the end of the line of icons i also have another panel with my clock, and another with the network status, the clipboard contents and the speaker icon.

I want to get the last 2 panels to move to the right of the screen, leaving my application icons on the left.  I can't for the life of me get it to stay in position.

Any idea where i'm going wrong chaps?

Many thanks

Hi Dreamofgilgamesh

First make sure you're Widgets are unocked (right click on panel and choose Unlock Widgets)

IF they are already unlocked. left click the Cashew Icon which should now "open" up the panel.

Now carefully position your cursor over the icon(s) you want to move and a large cross + should appear - now move the icons to where you want it/them.

After you've moved them "Lock" your widgets.

Hope that is what you wanted - if not post back

Thank you.  I tried that but the clock panel just jumps back to the left of the taskbar

Have you got the System Tray widget which shows the Volume / Network icons etc in the panel?

Ah! I've sorted it, although maybe not the right way.  I simply deleted the panel, added the panel then added my favourite items to it.  Thanks for your help all the same.
