Since we normal users do not have 4.8 we won't know.
However - I used Cairo Dock before on this machine and it worked just fine. The box, however, is a bit old and the performance was affected so I do not use it anymore. But if you have anything better than a 2.0Ghz Celeron and some decent amount of Ram - go for it.
