Undefined/unbordered windows in e17
« on: February 01, 2011, 06:06:04 AM »
There are still a few things that annoy me in e17.

First, and more important: the windows are not bordered.

If you have two windows with a white content, then the two windows are not visually separated from each other. Makes the switching a bit difficult at times.

I tried to play around "borders" in the Look settings, and to look int he "themes" area, but no solution. Isn't there a way to add a border around the whole windows so that it is visually defined? That's my main gripe with e17 right now.

Then there is the thing that you can only resize a window from the corners, not from anywhere in the surrounding of it. Is there a way to change that?

Thanks in advance.

+1   The windowless borders are annoying to me too coolraoul, and for the same reasons. I think Agust prefers "borderless" windows, and since he creates the beautiful e17 themes, they will prolly remain borderless. It would be nice to have a choice though. And speaking of Agust...where in the world is he? He hasn't been active on the forum since Jan. 12!

With ecomorph I get shadows around windows that create a very pleasing 3d-like distinction.  I believe that without ecomorph you get the same effect by enabling composite and dropshadow modules.  Does not help with the resizing though; it takes some precision mouse pointing to find that small sweet spot in the corner to drag.

I think it is very much a "theme" thing. I use the "A-simple-Pclos" theme I rescued from an earlier E17 and it shows borders very well.
