hello

I have not seen this point earlier but I may have missed it; my preceding install was PclinuxOS KDE where the installation of openoffice took place without problem.

Thanks for your help.

I believe you'll find the getopenoffice script has been replaced with the lomanager script which iinstalls LibreOffice.

i could swear that you asked this same question but maybe it was a similar name

currently the repos are not working because the main repo is being moved from location making other repos unavailable or not updated, this will take some days more to be fixed, patience

there is 2 or 3 other posts with the getopenoffice error but i can't see them now, one had a reply that could be useful, a search on this forum could help you

Try this:

Open Synaptic Package Manager
Settings
Repostories
New

URI: http://distro.ibiblio.org/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/
Distribution: pclinuxos/2010
Sections: main updates nonfree kde4 games

Now do a reload and then do a search for lomanager and that will install LibreOffice.

Good luck

this repo is currently the only one available, you could expect to have some speed issues because many users are using it right now but in your case you have a valid reason to use it

Hello again,

many thanks for your suggestions; I did apply them with full success.

This new (indeed slow but very efficient) repository url did
- complete my installation
- removed getopenoffice
- install lomanager

Lomanager made a quick and complete installation of java and libreoffice.

Clean and efficient.

Thanks again.
