First, let me reply to Pinoc. I agree that Synaptic is the safest way to instal packges & that is the ONLY way I would if I COULD. Unfortunately, many of those packages are severely outdated which means they wont give me the latest features. For example, the GIMP version in Synaptic is 2.6, but 2.8 has been out for quite awhile now & offer features I really need such as single window. I did extensive checking & 6 out of every 10 packages pre-installed in FM are outdated by 1 version or more. Please understand, I LOVE this Distro & yes, I have officially made the permanant switch from Zorin to PCLOS FM. In most cases, the older packages are fine, but in some cases like Gimp or KDEnlive, I HAVE to have the latest versions in order to get the professional features I need. Oh, & Crossover is an ABSOLUTE MUST for me, not available in Synaptic.
Now to answer Xenaflux: Yea, I actually found RPM installer & have used it to install 3 packages. Thanks.
