My FM installation in a Sony VAIO, suddenly had a skype problem. I did some googling, and since I wanted to do an update anyway, I updated via Synaptic and afterwards uninstalled PulseAudio. After rebooting, now I cannot even get to the normal login screen any more. I get a white "Welcome to localhost.localdomain" panel where I log in with my user name, then my user password. When I enter, I get another popup saying that I am attempting to run "drak3d" where I have to authenticate as "user" with my password again. Doing that I get another popup. Called 3d desktop effects.
I check no 3d desktop effects, click ok and get another panel telling me to reboot because I disabled Pulseaudio. Clicking OK gets me back to the welcome sign ...localhost etc etc
How get I out of this loop or better, what's wrong with my machine - it worked great until yesterday. Can anybody help?
