There were two Mexican flags downloading tonight but probably they are installing by now  ;D

Two leachers downloading today. If we add the direct downloads (which we doesn't know) Full Monty has been well received.
I shall pass this way but once;
any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

yep, I'm very pleased and again must say a big thank you to all of you helping to spread the beast. The torrent + direct downloads + copies from the downloaded isos, and most importantly no real problems so far  ;)

PS: wrt the tracker entry showing the error message, you can simply untick it and the error no longer shows but the torrent still works.

Ktorrent, Full Monty, and 7 Hours
« Reply #65 on: February 06, 2011, 02:56:45 PM »
I decided to get the Full Monty via the provided torrent.

KTorrent tells me it'll take 7 more hours.

Why? Is KTorrent not configured correctly? Do I need to change a setting?

Depends on who is or is not seeding at the time of your download and how far other people are+in settings make sure you give out just a little bit less than max,i.e i can give about 50k but i have set it at 40k so my bandwidth is not choked, this way you will get your download without no problems

I am currently dowloading to a guy in india and he's using transmision with default settings, the Kbs rate is all over the place,if he backed of a little bit with his output maxed and lowered it he will get a smooth download, because up and down are fighting with each over

My upload speed is ten times less than my download speed,if i left ktorrent at default the upload kills my download,so go to settings and have a play so it is ok for you

Wow, Chily, thanks.:)  My apologies, but I have no idea what I'm doing here. this is probably the second or third time I've used Ktorrent.

BTW, 4 hours now.No problem. SuperBowl is on.:)

No need to apologize, torrents are in a world of there own,but you can minimize problems by making sure you know the basic settings for your own ip,like the fastest i can download at ect.
enjoy superbowl,i am watching it myself

Mine took over 24 hours and I was still smiling.
I had far worse than this.
Some torrents come in faster than I think it's possible, and some take foooooreeeevveeeeerrr

I agree with chilly above.

Guys,

I guess I'm okay then.:)

But, the new KDE 4.6 s gonna wipe plasma settings (se Tex's message). So, will FM need a new release?

BTW, FM is an absolutely awesome idea!

Yes, everyone looks at it with open mouth.
I am telling them it's Windows 8 beta 1

you must hear the whows and the whaws.
When I get enough from the whows and the whaws ,only then I tell them it's linux.

I had one who wants to try linux ( better than nothing )

Xx

georgetoon, mine took 6 hours and 26 seconds to download,i am on a 20meg pipe but in reality i only get about 5 meg,so my upload is 50kbs max and if we have to download again because of the new KDE,so be it.
I love FM and hopefully we will not have to reinstall :)

Same here, I think that in case a reinstall is needed we should advise to those friends that are installing.

I'm tired of those KDE devs.

Who said anything about requiring a re-install?

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.
