Note that not all X implementations are guaranteed to honor all of these options.

One last idea regarding this.   If we leave the default setting alone it blanks at 10 minutes,
which is usually OK.    Then we want to watch a movie, I can run "xset dpms 0 0 0" from the
terminal, a desktop icon, or an OpenBox menu item, and that command actually works on my
machine stopping the screen from going blank at 10 minutes.   But, as you said, isn't working
from the autostart.sh file for some reason.   Probably the easiest way to set it up on my
machine without the xscreensaver.

Hi,

I just added this for the future new default autostart.sh files:
Quote
# uncomment the next two lines only and screen stays on after 10 minutes
# décommentez les deux lignes suivantes seulement et l'écran restera
# allumé après 10 minutes.
#xset s off &
#xset -dpms &

Would you like me to try to implement also parnote's script for feh ? His script allows to change background on a more or less 10 minutes rate, when you use feh only to manage the wallpaper. (See in his articles about Openbox in PCLOS mag of August)

While I am here, if you like using feh, maybe would you be happy to know that there is a newer version, and I asked for an update at packages request ? :D

Best to all,
Mélodie

That's okay, Melodie. parnote contributes so many articles to the magazine, it's hard to remember who wrote what, and easy to attribute most of it to parnote. He and Meemaw do an excellent job of running the show.

Hello, good morning,
So what would you think about adding this script to the scripts section and add an entry to the "main menu > Preferences", to activate or deactivate it ?

I usually use an all black wallpaper but occasionally use something colorful.   This changes
wallpaper every ten minutes with just a small script.   Not a bad idea.

Something else too.   I posted a message in General regarding our graphics website, linfx.com.
It doesn't allow people to register due to a confirmation code that cannot be read.  It has
PCL wallpapers in a gallery.   Don't know what else to do.    Perhaps you do.

THX.

I would say it's your call, Mel. The Openbox remasters are your "babies", and you should be the one making the decisions. If you're asking my opinion, I still prefer the PCManFM method of choosing the wallpaper. But, feh has one big advantage if you want the wallpaper to change automatically on a timed schedule. It all comes down to personal preferences. Of course, choices are one of the many advantages of using Linux.
