Cannot download Youtube Videos Anymore!
« on: January 23, 2011, 06:54:39 AM »
Hello, all. I posted not too long ago about a download problem. I seemed to have got it fixed, but don't really know what I did. Now, today, I can download any flash video, from many porn sites, and other sites that feature flash vids, but not from youtube. I click the download button, it opens a folder, a message pops up saying the vid is finished, but nothing in the folder. I tried it on 8 different site and it works to perfection, except on youtube. any help? This is driving me nuts!

For youtube videos, start the video playing and then pause it and let it load until the end. Then go to your  /home/name/tmp   file and find the flash video file in there with some strange name like  FlashXXr7jXyb  and drag it out onto the desktop. That's it. Give it a meaningful name. Now you can play it with your media player.

timeth,
this way I sometimes miss the audio in those flash files. May be it's a file extension issue?

if no copy protection for the video file, you can use
PCLinuxOS-FLV-Player
Plays and converted FLV Videos

Actually version, it's grab videos from Youtube, MyVideo and some other side. But only files without copy protection will grab. The videos must play on the online sides, only files, higher as 1024kb will find in your /tmp directory...

Mine go to my Root/tmp folder. I then right click and rename giving it a .flv extention ( FlashXXr7jXyb.flv ) then I move it to the folder of
my choice.

I have never had a problem doing as I described above.
