Found the answer:

http://kde3.pclosusers.com/

"We are sorry, but PCLOSusers.com is currently down due to excessive bandwidth usage. "

I have been in the hospital since Jan 2nd and am currently in rehab for the next two weeks.   I have had very limited or no internet access. Currently the hosting provider I have been with for the past 5 years shut down pclosusers due to excessive bandwidth issues.  I received a bill for over $2,000. They are claiming that I exceeded over 6 terabyte of bandwidth in the month of December.  I am disputing this. Until the issue is resolved the repository will be down. In the next week I will be looking into a temporary provider for the repository.
I am truly sorry if this has caused anyone issues.

YouCanToo

I hadn't really thought about the costs of running servers in actual "real money" terms, but this brings it home forcibly!  It just makes me think the 'PASS' donations are EXCEEDINGLY GOOD VALUE for money!  I think when mine comes up for renewal I'd better give a bit extra!

Get well soon!

And many thanks for providing the repository for as long as you have. I have used it and appreciated having it available. But if they are going to try charging you outrageous fees perhaps it's time to drop it.

Thanks again, and take good care of yourself.

Thanks everyone for such kind words!  I have never had issues with paying for the hosting of the repository from my own pocket. It was just a way to give back to the PCLOS community that has given so much. I am trying to resolve this issue with my hosting provider as quickly as possible.

georgetoon - You are correct in saying 'PASS' donations are EXCEEDINGLY GOOD VALUE for money!

If you can't get things straightend out with your provider and they keep you on paying the ridicules 2000 whatever, I am willing to donate an x amount to you so you don't have to pay it yourself. Just let me know what you think about it and else keep us up to date on this.

I too am willing to make a donation to help keep the 2009 repos open. I enjoy tinkering  but not on my 2009.1 install. I need to update it and then keep it at least for a while.  Plz let us know and thanks for your dedication to the "open software" concept and pclos in particular. I have toyed with dozens of deb and slack based releases but nothing comes close to mdv and pclos for a great combination of usability, maturity and experienced user base. mdv is beginning to let their errata page grow too large so pclos has been taking over as my main distro. You have your money on the winning horse!

Thanks

Similar sentiments here too. I am looking for an rpm for dnsmasq for pclinux2009 ( and related dependencies). i have a working pclinus/shorewall combo running very well and need to use this rpm. Hope somebody can zip and send it to me at meswara2000 at gmail dot com.

I am not sure what dependencies are required though...

Ongoto,

This link is promising ( thanx again );
http://galinux.myftp.org/pclinuxos/oldies/

The other links are ......

To ensure compatibility, i just did a check of some rpms  i have installed in the box as compared to the galinux repo.

Potential problem? pls see below....

[root@firewall tech]# rpm -qa|grep kdebase

kdebase-3.5.10-10pclos2007
kdebase-servicemenu-2007-6pclos2007
kdebase-konsole-3.5.10-10pclos2007

Looks ok but ....

[root@firewall tech]# rpm -qa|grep kde
kdebase-3.5.10-10pclos2007
kdegraphics-kghostview-3.5.10-4pclos2009
kdeutils-superkaramba-3.5.10-1pclos2007
xsettings-kde-0.10-1pclos2009
kdeutils-kedit-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdebase-servicemenu-2007-6pclos2007
kdeartwork-screensaver-gl-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdemoreartwork-comix-1.3.8-6pclos2007
kdegraphics-kuickshow-3.5.10-4pclos2009
kdeartwork-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdemoreartwork-kbml-1.0.8-6pclos2007
kdeutils-klaptop-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdemoreartwork-lunamet-1.0-6pclos2007
kdenetwork-kppp-provider-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdegraphics-3.5.10-4pclos2009
kdebase-konsole-3.5.10-10pclos2007
kdenetwork-kppp-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdeutils-kcalc-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdelibs-3.5.10-3pclos2007
kdemultimedia-3.5.10-1pclos2007
kdegraphics-kooka-3.5.10-4pclos2009

i notice that i have 2007 , 2009 rpms mixed? normal?

      uname -a gives;

Linux firewall.house 2.6.26.8.tex3 #1 SMP Mon Jan 12 04:33:38 CST 2009 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+ GNU/Linux

     less /etc/pclinuxos-release gives;

PCLinuxOS release 2007 (PCLinuxOS) for i586

and i thought that i had a 2009 machine.... I know that i had started with pclinux 2007 and then i did an online upgrade to 2009.

any one can shed any light on this ?
