mounted USB drive icon on desktop in zen-mini? <SOLVED!>
« on: January 21, 2011, 10:56:25 AM »
I have been using PCLinuxOS-2010 for a while, and have just now switched to Gnome Zen-Mini.  I used to have an icon pop onto my PCLOS-2010 desktop when I plugged in a USB drive.  It was useful for mounting/unmounting the drives on the fly.  That does not happen in Zen-Mini.  Instead, I have to open the file browser and mount/unmount from there.

How does one have an icon appear on the Zen-Mini when a USB drive is mounted?

Any help is appreciated!

opern termianl (As a normal user if you want do that on your desktop) and open gconf-editor -> apps -> nautilus -> desktop -> volumes visible (tick that)...
After that I think that you will have to reboot system and will work ;)
If you want do that for root account that login as a root and do the same...

good luck!
