lxde on toughbook does not like lcd
« on: January 13, 2011, 05:02:22 PM »
If I hook up a monitor to my laptop I can see the desktop fine.  If I use the laptops lcd screen the display is narrow and the bottom looks all stretched out.  It is a cf28 toughbook with 512 mb of ram.  It must be something with the video card settings.  I tried changing them and no change I am stuck now. any help would be great.  The setting I used with pclinux 2009 where intel 810 driver. I tried that but no luck.

Please provide more information.

Check in PCC > Hardware to see what your video card/chip is.
What is your screen resolution?
What video driver are you using? (Check to be certain.)

It is set to use the intel 800 and up driver.  It will not go to the intel 800 driver that worked for pclinux 2009. the resolution will not change to 1024 768 it is stuck on 800 x 600. can I download a driver for the video card?

The 800 was integrated into the 810 and later. 800x600? It looks like you're using the vesa driver.

Open PCC > Hardware > Browse and configure hardware. Click on your video card and on the right side at the bottom, click Run config tool. This will open the wizard to set up your video. Choose which driver to use. Choose your resolution.
