[solved] Group 'fan out' from panel on icon focus
« on: January 08, 2011, 06:40:18 PM »
I am doing some base install of MiniMe. I did not realise how much I liked the KDE panel grouped icons fanning out when focus placed on the group icon.

A bit more explanation:  when mouse hover over group icon, the individual icons are seen in a line above the panel, moving mouse into any opened icon will then highlight full size in the background desktop.

I have been looking to see if this is available in MiniMe but failed to find it.  I will live without it but if it is available I will kick myself for not ask   :Ding.

Finally found the "fan out".  Not sure at what stage but I must have ticked Desktop Effects (new thing to me)

Configure Your Desktop > Workspace appearance > Desktop Effects: enable

Got real worried when I installed KDE2010.12 and no "fan out". Yet the version I used only days ago to run mythTV experiment had the feature.  Pheeeewww.    ;D ;D
