Post Count ?
« on: December 31, 2010, 04:58:36 PM »
Yesterday I was here posting and saw that my post count was 740
Today in my profile it says that my post count is 706 ( before this post )
I wish I had taken a screen shot yesterday

Did some of my posts get deleted or expire somehow - Still that shouldn't effect my post count
would it ?

Lots of reasons, Ramchu. Sometimes, the OP deletes the original post that you replied to. Other times, a post gets sent to the TZ, and your posts go with it. Yet other times, a post is simply deleted because it serves no further purpose, such as all the Package Request posts. Sometimes a backup and consolidation of the forum database will cause some older posts to vanish into digital anonymity.

Not to worry (like Neal says) ... you can quickly make up those extra 34 posts!  ;) :D ;D

Hey, it's New Year... let's not add grey hair with post counts. Higher post counts don't mean a user helped a lot (although in the case of Just19, hmmm and a few others). Most of my post counts are in the Sandbox (and probably the Welcome Center), which probably translates to being more just more sociable. Frankly, it don't mean a thing to me. For others maybe but not for me. What is more important is the few times I was able to help in the forum and the incredible friends I made in the community. Take away my post counts, I will still have those. Well I may not be able to request a package but 10 posts is easy to make.

So, Happy New Year, Neal! More Power throughout 2011, Paul!

Best wishes for 2011, smileeb ... and Live long and propser in 2011, Ramchu!

Post Count = number of times you've posted; i.e. a simple measure.
Forum Friends and Family = a priceless treasure that cannot be measured.

Whether your count is ten or ten thousand, once you've made a friend, you've "made it!"

Neal is more than just one of the developers of PCLinuxOS, the famous OS. He's one of the very first people I've met in the community who used to go by the handle Merlin and Merlin Myrddin. Now, he's simply Neal, my friend!
