Bluetooth completely quits before I can do anything with it

OK, Bluetooth is really making me feel stupid...

I'm running Phoenix (PCLOS Xfce edition), and I got a Bluetooth adapter for Christmas, which I've got plugged into the back of my computer.  I've got Blueman installed and got a connection made with my phone (a Motorola RazorPhone).  However, when I right-click on the smaller of the two Bluetooth icons in my panel (am I really supposed to have 2 Bluetooth icons down there?), go to my phone and click "Browse files...", I get prompted on my phone to bond with my computer, I click yes, enter my PIN, and after I get that done, I get the same prompt on my computer.  However, while I'm typing that number in, that dialog box disappears very quickly before I'm finished entering the PIN -- and I even tried entering it very quickly and it still disappeared before I was done (is this a crash or something?).  Oh, and needless to say, I don't get any kind of dialog box where I can see my phone's contents on my computer, either.  What's up with that?

Thanx in advance,
Fred in St. Louis
