LXDE Screensaver

I have PCLinuxOS 2010 lxde version installed on my laptop . The screensaver will activate on the live cd but after installation it will not run and when I go to the screensaver settings,CHBG app opens up in front of the xscreensaver .I do not know how to set any settings on CHBG . On the xscreensaver ,I set it to show random screensaver but when I exit and wait for it to activate it just goes to a blank screen.
  If anyone know how to properly set up the screensaver the help would be much appreciated.

Rob,
Close CHBG before you set the screensaver and be sure you save your changes.

Hi,

chbg has nothing to do with screensavers but with background settings.

For the screen blanking, it may be due to the graphic card. Do you have direct rendering enabled ? If you don't know, you may have to install mesa-demos, then in a console, as user is ok, type "glxinfo | grep rendering".

Knowing what your Graphic card, at this point, could also be useful. You can type as root: "lspci | grep VGA".

I have direct rendering enabled and this is the graphics card :compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2x (rev 64)
   Screen saver still won't activate by itself.

Check to see that you are using the correct driver for your graphics card.

This would be x11-driver-video-r128, unless we don't have the correct one for that card.

X.org driver for ATI Rage 128
x11-driver-video-r128 is the X.org driver for ATI Rage 128.

If you have the direct rendering enabled, we could only suppose that the correct card is setup ?

What if you would install xlockmore ? and or xlockmore-gui ?
