[Wmii] Using Jumanji
« on: December 27, 2010, 03:26:44 PM »
I did try with Nano to edit Exec for the home page, but somehow it doesn't work, yet ;D:

Anyway, Jumanji works very well and it's very fast..very fast. So, to launch it, Mod+p / jumanji+website:

Code: [Select]
jumanji http://www.yahoo.com

Coffeetime,

Thanks for testing it out, and thanks to Leiche for building the browser from my point of view is lighter and at least as stable as Midori, it will be the default in the  next WMii iso (assigned to F1)

I am exploring a few alternative applications atm, that I will undoubtedly put forward for package requests as I whittle them down, as usual the applications will be light but also as  'full featured' as possible, and although iso size is a consideration, light does not always equate to small.

enjoy the browser , I am although I am still learning its ways and keybindins, all in all its a good fit for the WMii iso

You can set the Homepage by editing /home/user/.config/jumanjirc along with many other settings including search engines etc

EDIT: fullsize screenie

Question. How are the bookmarks saved on /home/<user>/.config/jumanji/bookmarks used? What is the command to call a particular bookmark? Thanks. Never mind. I found it! :)

One of the things I really like about Jumanji is the zoom in (+) and out (-).

Just discovered another shortcut, and I looked at the cheat sheet and it is not there.

"j" scrolls the page down while "k" scrolls it up. Press Shift and j/k and it's the same as
gt   or C-Tab       = go to next tab
gT  or C-S-Tab    = go to previous tab.

S-j   = go to previous tab
S-k  = go to next tab.

Another great hidden ability is <tab>completion!

use either 't' for tabopen or 'o' for open and then start to type ANY part of an existing bookmark/history item then press the <tab> key.

HeHe

We can (aparently) thank Jumanji's Vimprobable roots for this!

I am loving this more and more

And if there are identical URLs, <tab> and Shift + <tab> scrolls up and down the filtered selection.

I haven't stopped using it but obviously there are still its limitations and I would still open Firefox.

Since my spelling in English is deplorable, does anybody know how I could implement an en_gb spell check in jumanji?  Can't post anything with that browser up to then I am afraid.

Otherwise I love it - it's FAST!!  :o

longtom,

I have figured out how to activate spell checking, but not how to offer suggestions in the right click context menu

To activate spellchecking (ie the red underlines) navigate to  /longtom/.config/jumanjirc and add the line

set spell_checking true

I will post back should i be able to figure out the next part

Jase

EDIT:

Also

set spell_checking_lang en_GB

This does  not seem to do anything further though

Does that work for you, Hoots?  Doesn't seem to do anything for me .... ???

Edit:  It does work when I # out the set spell_checking_lang en_GB .
It doesn't work when I have the set spell_checking_lang en_GB active and the other one crossed out.

Just clues to the puzzle ...

As you say - no suggestions.  But hey, gives me a chance to hack for the correct spelling .

Longtom,

I think the spell check issue is solved, add to jumanjirc the lines

set spell_checking true
set spell_checking_en_GB

Then save and log out (to restart X) then log back in,  now incorrectly spelt words are underlined and if you highlight the word (double click on it) and on right click you are offered spelling suggestions.

as some say yeehaa!
