Canon LiDe 90 scanner
« on: December 27, 2010, 08:08:34 AM »
I have just bought a second hand Acer Aspire 5920G laptop, and have had no trouble with installing the Gnome version.
The one problem I do have is my scanner (Canon LiDe 90) will not work.
I tried to set it up manually but there is no entry for the LiDe 90.
I have had it working under another distro, but cannot remember which one.
When it picks up a scanner it picks up the built in webcam.
Is there any way to get the scanner up and running.
On the Canon site it says mine is Linux compatable.

Are you sure it's supported?  Because I looked on the Canon website and it looks like they don't have drivers for the scanner on Linux.  They don't even mention Linux, at least from what I found.  Also, SANE says that it isn't supported in their current version.

I made a mistake, it was the LiDE 50 that was supported, the one I previously owned, (before it broke).
