Jamanji web browser
« on: December 26, 2010, 10:27:39 AM »
PS: sorry to disturb, but I just tried to compile it, and I don't see how a package fit for repos could be done out of it. it's not finished, the readme contains an error (states about config tweaks you can do in "config.h" but the file there is "config.dev.h" and when you look into it, it looks like you have to setup the config for your monitor in there and I don't know what else).

The git clone command has brought this in less than 3 seconds:
Quote
ls
config.def.h  config.mk  jumanji.c  Makefile
config.h      jumanji.1  LICENSE    README

Then there is no ./configure, so you won't know what is missing if there is something missing in your system. Then make or "make install" returns errors. I am almost sure this application is not ready for anything else than further development... :|

Hi Melodie-

It looks like Arch has a package for this...  perhaps this will help in your endeavors:

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/jumanji-git/jumanji-git/PKGBUILD

More info on their build is here:

travisn000 & Melodie,

Not only is it packaged it works great sooo far - posting this from it, i have to get more gamilier the keybindings but its a great app.

Jase

EDIT:

navigate with h/j/k/l and shift J/K to switch tabs

control t opens new tab -

All in all a very good browser, need to figure out how to get the plugins to work right though

I suspect it will need the gstreamer browser plugin

I agree and it only took a short time to learn the navigation and opening urls, etc. It is blazing fast. Thenks for the suggest.

May I add that it isn't for the faint-hearted. There are no buttons to click and it's all keyboard. But it is blindingly fast!

I am also posting from it. :)
