I think that it's a strange phenomenon of forums in general, that in perusing them, people tend to forget that the forum is a place that is primarily used specifically for reporting problems. And most end-users are generally not going to post unless they do have an issue, and we never hear from the vast majority of users because everything works perfectly for them.

I wonder how many times a day PCLOS is downloaded? Perhaps Tex has an idea, would be an interesting factoid to know.

Myself, I just hang out here because the PCLOS crew are the only ones who'll put up with me

I was very lucky with installation and so forth, but am here to be annoying anyway!

Hey Rudge, it just seems to me that things really don't need to be so darned complicated maybe? 

Additionally, some posts try to cover for a myriad of eventualities which is helpful for those people who do happen to have an issue or two. so some of those post may look like overkill but can be prove very useful,

I think the number of testimonials that (new users in particular) post on the forum shows that more people have a good experience against those that don't.

Thanks to you all.  Yes as all of you have said above, I too, get a sort of weird thrill out of fiddling with things (sometimes till I break em) it is sort of a enjoyable puzzle to put things together, and when things go too smoothly you really tend to wonder why? ?

You knucklehead...  soon you will be part of the 1% that have problems with PCLinuxOS! While you're fiddling, be sure to install some outside packages!

I was really sure this old little pc would not work as it had been sitting in someone's closet for over 4 years.  There are a lot of little glitches I need to understand (settings and so forth), so I will likely be asking alot of questions in the near future!

See? It won't be long... keep tweaking... One-percenter!

Hey Archie, never had to re-install PCLinuxOS yet.... notice I said "YET"    

Originally I was dealing with Xandros Linux which came pre-installed on the EEEPC. I had to F9 the system oh.... I'd say about 21 times, this, after trying to upgrade the kernel, which was something like 2.16..... <--- not sure, but I guess this wasn't possible to do, therefore bringing me into the new territory of installing about 3 new distros, until I arrived here!
