Thanks!

OK, it's only a problem of repos that are down but will soon be up, nothing to worry about.

I really enjoy E17!!!

Seems I forgot to mention that some mirrors still work (don't know if they still work at the very moment, but some hours ago they did):

spout.ussg.indiana.edu
and some others (can't think of them right now)
You can select another in Synaptic (remember, only one repository at a time enabled!)

Or you can just wait, if not too urgent;  ;)

Thanks, I'll just wait then.

Why are they down BTW?

EDIT: Okay, I seen it: migration of the servers. That's fine.

Hi all,
I am experiencing the freeze when trying to remove desktop gadgets as well.  I was wondering how do I remove them manually?  I can not seem to find a way to do it. Is there a terminal command like killall that will do it?  Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

What helps here is unloading/reloading the gadget's module.

Same problem here - and the same solution.
If I move a gadget to the desktop from a shelf - that's OK.
But if I want to move it back to the shelf or any other shelf,
or to remove it from the desktop - the later freezes completely
and I have to ctrl+alt+backspace it.
So I go to settings - modules - (the module in question) and unload it.
After that I load it again, and can put it in a shelf or anywhere.
Just, a problem is,  have to remember that from the desktop you can't
remove any module from the handy module right click menu... But there comes the reminder - sure as death :D
It's not how it's supposed to work, but.. it works that way :)

Also, I tried some other distros with e17 (don't know if I can mention which ones,
but the developers of PCLOS E17 are trying those, I think...) - there - all is OK  ??? ::)

Those distros are using an older e17 or create packages from svn (bug already fixed there).
Texstar only packages the snapshot tarballs, last release was on the 3th of december.

With the EFL libraries at stable 1.0 now i expect a new snapshot soon. :)

I have the same freeze problems with the gadgets, but also when using pulse audio, I can't get a mixer(volume control) on the desktop or a shelf. When I add the gadget, I get no icon no matter what I try. I have not switched back to alsa sound due to needing pulse, but was wondering it this could be the proplem. thanks

Try reverting to alsa first. If that doesn't help open a separate topic on this.

New update (29/02/2011) - New bugs !!!

http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/ticket/706

What does work again is removing gadgets from the desktop.
Locking desktop also seems to be working fine.
