Audio file converter Recommendation

I came across a post that claimed it did so for AA files ........  I have no idea myself ......  but it surely might be worth trying ..... if it made a CD or CD Image then the audio could be extracted from that.

I don't have any of your format to try with, but Transoder Audio Edition (in the repos) has proven quite useful.

You don't say whether the problem is with opening the files or re-saving them to another format, but the problem here could be that the files are protected.

Some (if not all) .aax files have DRM protection that would mean they would be unable to be opened by regular audio applications.

I would try with audacity.  it converts many types of audio files and can save them as mp3's.

It's OK, Sparky.  I've done the same thing before, too -- posted on here or or another similar forum and then later solved the problem on my own. LOL

There are apps out there for windows and mac that can be used to convert an audiobook to mp3 but all are between 30 and 40 bucks. I prefer work with linux and thought that there might be an open source app that can perform the same task.

If you have to use a windoze app, Format Factory is free, and converts anything to anything basically. Just batch converted over a gig's worth of MP4's to MP3's the other day, took about 12 minutes. Just an FYI, y'all please forgive the winders reference, but i'm still a dual-booter
