I'd sure say it was the same problem, it waddles & quacks like the same duck to me.
I wonder how long it will take to get GE6 whipped into submission?
Or, should that function be restored to libphonon?
Let me add a secondary comment about a 4th package that is being a PIMA because I have to cancel its install over tar-1.23 every time I update. 1.24 and 1.25 are both broken for amanda's use. Hopefully the amanda crew has submitted a test case to gnu-org that shows the failure, and the gnu-org will hold off on 1.16 until its been fixed. 1.24 broke a lot of stuff, 1.25 was rushed out & didn't to my knowledge fix a thing, so we've been warming up that mailing list about it occasionally. Perhaps you should check with Jean-Louis at amanda.org before dropping any new tars in the pclos repo's?
Last but perhaps not least, a question?
How many users would you say that pclos has? This has been the most stable and generally trouble free distro I have ever installed, and I _have_ been yakking it up on other lists, and I would not be at all adverse (TANSTAAFL) to a per user donation request to help support this effort, on either an annual basis or perhaps a shorter period, something that I could hopefully just set my bank schedule up to do at intervals if its not an international M.O. situation. This shouldn't equate to a fee that looks like red hats per seat fee since this retired old fart is on Social Security, but if enough of us were to toss $100 USD a year in the kitty, would that not help at least enough to support person watching a mailing list?
Are there that many of us?
Thanks Guy & Gals.
