Sansa Clip+ not recognized [Solved]
« on: June 13, 2010, 06:42:18 PM »
Prior to the install of 2010, I was able to mount my Clip+ and copy files to it and delete files off of it. It mounted like any other generic device (actually two, one came up as a MP# player, the other (the onboard SD card) mounted as a simple device). Yesterday I wanted to modify some of the content and when I plugged it in to the USB port, I got nothing. Really nothing.

Device notifier doesn't pop up or include it. I ran an fdisk -l which returned all the devices other than the Clip+. I've searched the forums but this seems a little different in that it fails to see my device at all. I even ran sysinfo:/ in Konqueror.... still nothing.

When I plug the Clip+ into the USB port, It activates and says it is 'Connected' so I know that the USB port is functional [Everything I plug into it other than the Clip+ works]. Can someone point me in the direction I need to go to troubleshoot the USB connection so I can see what happens... Maybe get some error code...

Double check that you are in MSC mode on your Clip and not in Sansa's 'Auto' USB mode. That got me the other day with my Fuze.

Thanks!!! That was it. Works exactly like before now. [Odd that prior KDE/kernels (whichever one is responsible) did not require that change and the newer, faster, better, prettier ones didn't...]
