Unable to Add Xscreensaver as Startup Application in E17
« on: December 10, 2010, 01:56:28 PM »
I am having trouble adding xscreensaver as a startup application in E17. I go to Settings/Apps/Startup Applications, but I do not see Xscreensaver on the list of available applications. Am I missing a step? Thanks.

Thanks for the response. It is great to get a response from the developer! I did upgrade my e-17 install using the method described in the link above. I was having some other problems with e17 so I re-installed PLOS LXDE for now. I was getting frequent "Enlightenment SGV'd" messages when trying to configure gadgets, modules, and shelves. Also the drawer module (which I had added to a shelf) was removed by e-17 a couple of times.

I probably should have cleaned out my /home directory (mounted on a separate partition) of program setup files before trying to install e-17. I may try to install it again some time. For now I am content with LXDE while playing with e-17 in my Virtual Box.  :)

Hi,

Just a thought, do you have theses packages installed in the version where you want xscreensaver ? "xlockmore" and
"xlockmore-gtk2" (and eventually gnome-screensaver). If not, it might help, as well as restart the session once done.
