how do you rebuild xorg.conf ?
« on: December 10, 2010, 01:24:12 PM »
What is involved in rebuilding this file?
Secondly, has the functionality of this file been split out to other files?
For example, mine does not have inputdevice/mouse section.

Thanks for any info.

Don't know if this is what you are after, but on trouble, my first - and admittedly lazy - stop is always to delete (read: rename as .old or something for backup) xorg and restart the machine. That give me a fresh - and working - xorg.

Isn't there something about xorg going redundant, i.e. the hardware is detected on startup anyhow... I didn't think that had reached PCLOS already, though?

Cheers!

I think its more appropriate saying its going "optional". X.org will look for it and apply its settings if it can find it, if it cant, it will use other means to find out what it used to find on the config file.

Basically, the config file will be there to over ride default X settings.
