VMware VM Speed Increase

If you want your VMware guests to run as fast as your hardware can run them, then install the CFS standard kernel out of the repo. Just get rid of the BFS kernel. I tested on my hardware and picked up another 20% more processing power with the CFS kernel running on the host.

I don't know if it makes a difference in a guest.

Thanks for the tip. In the next few days I will try to do this with vbox on a i7 870. I tried to run the latest LXDE live-cd just for a look-see and the thing gagged and froze the vm.
