Canon Linux Printer Drivers

The linux drivers for Canon printers, that don't work by default in linux such as my ip2600 are available at

http://support-asia.canon-asia.com

They have deb and rpms. You want the rpm version and you'll need the common and specific files for your printer. Just do a search for model and set os type as linux.

Install using rpm.

Installing did give me a gvfs error while installing which doesn't mean anything. Startup printerdrake after you installed your rpms and configure cups options however you like for your printer now and print.

You aren't really installing software, its just printer description files for cups.
