In case it is of any interest .......  I was having trouble adding new starions and arraning them in the order I wanted, so I resorted to doing it manually in the config file.

That file looked very messy ......  so I put each station on its own line to make it easier to read and manage.

The I wrote in the stations I wanted available and arranged them in the order I preferred.

In the end much better than the frustrating experience I was getting with the method supplied ....  which I must say worked well until I got to about 15 stations or so.

BTW .....  the config is in XML format and is in   ~/.local/share/radiotray/

*****

Anyone else having a bit of a problem controlling the volume from radiotray?

It seems extremely loud and I have it set to 5% to start with.

It still seems to vary somewhat though ......  makes me wonder if it could be limited to a max somehow .....

*****

Overall I like this wee app .....  very neat for what it does.

regards.

Not having the problems you are having.  I shift my stations where I want to and I keep them separated by genre using the separators.  I also do not have your volume fluctuations you are experiencing.

Running Phoenix Mini.

Maybe conflict of codecs?  If that is possible?

The volume problem may have had a little help from me .......  rolling the wheel of the mouse over the radiotray tray icon will raise the volume very much.
I may have inadvertently rolled the wheel a few times .....  now being extra careful and have not as much trouble with it.

Even though I use an internet radio for all my stations, etc., this thread has really piqued my interest. You guys are saving radio streams on your toolbar?  If so, that sound slick!  Any screen shots?

The small radiotray utility just places an icon on the tray and if you wish to listen to a station click on the icon and select the station from the pop-up list.

That is it.

You can adjust the list of stations manually so you always have a list populated with stations you want to listen to.

   1. Right click on Radio Tray and select “Configure radios…”
   2. Click “Add”
   3. Paste the URL into the URL box, and give the stream a name that you will recognize.
   4. Listen & Enjoy!

You can push your station up and down the list and insert separators if you want to sort your stations by genre or something else.

That should do it ...  :D

georgetoon,

Check out the Shoutcast directory of stations. I didn't find WABC listed, but with over 48,000 stations, I suspect you won't have any trouble finding something that appeals to your tastes in music.  ;) ;D

Yep.  I did all that and WABC does not work.  It might be because they are using a flash based stream?

If you search the internet you may find someone streaming it in a more user friendly form.

Just what I've been looking for.  A lightweight replacement for RealPlayer.
Thx's all above.
