Digikam 1.6.0 - Problem to display thumbnails of big files
« on: December 01, 2010, 02:09:03 PM »
I have digikam 1.6 running on PCLOS Phoenix Mini in a virtual machine on Virtual Box on XP at work, all fully upgraded.

I have one folder with jpg-files of around 6 MB and can't get digikam to show thumbnails for those files. I tried to change the settings for the max. file size, but couldn't find anywhere to do this. In the FAQ on digikam.org I can only find an explanation how to do it under KDE, but that don't help me.

Shotwell produces the thumbnails and I can open the images. They also appear in Thunar, but not in digikam  ??? ??? ???

Will appreciate any hints...

Thank you in advance  :) :)

Can you give a link to the site which speak about changing settings in KDE?
(I opened Digikam, but can't find directly an option to change...)

It's one FAQ there. I couldn't find any fix searching google.

OK, one question: is Dolphin installed? (it has to be, if you want to adjust this setting I think)

Hi Rubentje,

no Dolphin isn't installed. I find that Thunar doesn't offer previews, so I'll try adding Dolphin. Have installed LXDE and there one can change the max. file size for previews in the filemanager settings.

I'll try some tweeks and post the results.

Thanks for helping.
