Page Alignment Problem [Solved]
« on: December 01, 2010, 12:03:11 PM »
I have a minor issue with an HP Photosmart Premium connected wirelessly. When printing a webpage, for example, the top line that provides the website URL is cut off by about 1/2; I estimate it is about 1/8" or about 8 or 9 points. It appears that the bottom is shifted up by the same amount. The same problem does not seem to occur when I'm using a word processor like Open Office Write. I notice that my hpijs.ppd file has several lines of code that appear to be related to alignment of the printed page on the sheet. Is there a setting in the .ppd that is overridden when using a word processor?  Is this the place to correct this problem? If so, can someone guide me through the process of changing the correct code?

PS Dec 2

While waiting for a response, I did a little experimenting with OO Write to see just how close to the page edge this printer would print.  Looks like it will print right up to the edge.  I then changed the coordinates in the ppd file code for ImageableArea to allow minimal margins of 7 points.  This seems to work.

Thanks
