Finally downloaded the 4.8 ISO today,
so far really like what I see..
will wait for the final before installling though.
Thanks for all the work you guys do.
 :)

Do you feel it is more demanding on the system or it's just as fast and light?

Seemed as responsive as any other Distro running on this machine from a live CD That's about all I can say for the moment.

Looks like XFCE becomes what Gnome wanted to be while Gnome becomes ... who knows?

Oh, if there could be an ISO with XFCE 4.8 stable before I bring that "new old" box to my parents where internet is sooooo slow  ;) ;) ;)

Will it be possible to update or will a new install be mandatory to obtain XFCE 4.8?

Looking at the change log on their home page I have decided to completely re-install, even if they say you can just upgrade.

Ok all ... with the fantastic help of Tex and Neal ... i can announce that i have packaged the XFCE 4.8 Desktop and sent it to Tex to check and add to the repo ... i am in the process of creating a Beta ISO image of Phoenix Mini ... should be ready this weeked .... happy friday everyone
